Big John Kares is a non profit organization that promotes equality in education for inner-city schools in and around the Los Angeles area.

Big John Kares guides youth and young adults (ages 15 and up),  who come from underserved communities, to make the right decisions in life .  John Harriel Jr. the founder of  Big John Kares, founded the organization to give youth, that come from a similar path as him, resources and guidance to make the right decisions in life, so they do not have to go through the same trials and tribulations as he did in his youth.

Mentorship programs are also offered, with faculty who have lived in the same parts of town as these young adults, who speak the same language as them which give them the ability to grasp their focus and help them make the right choices in life.
